In the propedeuse year (1995/96) at the art academy in Utrecht my eyes were opened and a rich world opened up for me. For the first time in my life I came into contact with art. Just back from my service in Bosnia, it was an impressive and welcome enrichment of my life. My eyes were open, but the life of a visual artist was still too far removed from the expectations I had of life. And I graduated cum laude in architectural design. The beginning of a long road that would eventually make me an architect. A profession that I have been practicing for more than ten years.
Even before my crisis, a desire to the expression and freedom of that propaedeutic year at the HKU returned. But daily life and routine claimed too much of my creativity. I decided to change course and free myself from dogma imposed by myself. To resign from the architectural firm I worked and dedicate my further life to art.
